01The camera

The H1 is a compact, full-frame digital camera built around three physical dials and a fixed, offset viewfinder. It is small enough to carry every day, and it does not ask you to read a manual before the first frame.

Top plate

Shutter speed, ISO and exposure compensation each have their own dial, machined from solid aluminium and knurled at 0.4 mm pitch. Every setting can be read with the camera switched off.

Why the H1 has no mode dial

02HV lenses

Three focal lengths. One small mount.

The HV mount sits 17.5 mm from the sensor, which lets us keep lenses short. The 40 mm is 22 mm long. The whole three-lens set weighs 766 g.
