Warranty and repairs
We repair every H1 and HV lens in the room next to the one where they were assembled. The warranty is the same in every country we ship to.

01Coverage
What the warranty covers
The Halvane warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship from the date on your receipt. There is no registration: your proof of purchase is enough, whether you bought from us or from a listed stockist. The warranty stays with the camera if you sell it.
The shutter is covered for 3 years or 200,000 cycles, whichever comes first. You can read your shutter count on the camera from firmware 1.4.0.
Your statutory rights as a consumer, including the two-year legal guarantee in the EU, are not affected.
What it does not cover
- Damage from drops, impacts or crushing.
- Water damage beyond splashes and rain, including submersion. The 40 mm lens does not seal the mount.
- Scratches to the sensor cover glass from cleaning.
- Damage to the mount from lenses over 1.2 kg used without support.
- Cosmetic wear, including the natural patina on Raw Aluminium finishes.
- Cameras opened or repaired by anyone other than Halvane.
02Repairs
Sending a camera or lens in
- Write to repairs@halvane-optics.com with your serial number, a short description of the fault and, for warranty repairs, a copy of your receipt.
- We reply within one working day with a repair number and, inside the warranty, a prepaid shipping label.
- Pack the camera without the battery, card or strap, and write the repair number on the outside of the box.
- We repair within 10 working days of receipt and send it back insured.
Your serial number has the form H1-25-04187 for a camera and HV28-25-01120 for a lens. On the H1 it is engraved on the base plate, inside the battery door. On HV lenses it is on the mount side of the barrel.
In Denmark, Sweden and Norway we can lend you an H1 body while yours is with us, if the repair is expected to take longer than five working days. Ask when you write.

Every repair is covered for 12 months on the part replaced. You get a written quote before any out-of-warranty work starts.
