H1 firmware and release notes
The current H1 firmware is version 1.4.0, released on 8 September 2026. Updates are free. Below are the update steps and every release since launch.
How to update
- Charge the battery to at least 60 percent. The camera refuses to start an update below that.
- Format an SD card in the camera. Updates load from the SD slot only, not from CFexpress.
- Copy the file
H1_FW140.HVF to the root of the card, not into a folder.
- Insert the card, open Setup, page 5, and choose Firmware update.
- Do not switch off the camera or open the battery door. The update takes about 4 minutes and the camera restarts twice.
Lens firmware is installed the same way with the lens mounted. The camera checks the lens version after every body update and offers the newest version included in the body file.
Settings are kept across updates, except when going from 1.2.x to 1.3.0, which resets custom button assignments.
Firmware files are sent by email on request to support@halvane-optics.com, or installed free at our showroom. Downgrading is not supported.
