HV lens / 02
HV 40 mm f/2.4
A pancake 22 mm long that turns the H1 into a jacket-pocket camera. It is the lens in the H1 kit, and the reason the camera exists in the size it does.

Forty millimetres sits between the documentary 35 and the classic 50. On the H1 it gives a slightly tighter frame than your eye expects, which tends to make for calmer pictures.
Six elements in five groups, one aspherical. There is no aperture ring here: aperture is set on the front command dial, and the focus ring is a thin knurled band at the very front of the barrel. A ten-blade diaphragm keeps out-of-focus highlights round down to f/5.6.
The 40 mm is splash resistant but has no mount gasket, so it does not complete the H1's weather sealing. If you photograph in heavy rain, use the 28 mm or 75 mm.
